Day 1: Open House Night
The first day of recruitment is Open House, which gives you the opportunity to see the personality of each sorority. Everyone will visit all 4 sororities which means you will attend 4 events total. Each round is 30 minutes. The rounds during Open House allow PNMs to get a glimpse into each sorority, their values, and what makes them unique. Information regarding dues and finances will also be provided at this round.
Attire: Presentable Casual
Open House attire is presentable casual. We will give you a shirt to wear and the rest is up to you! Wear a presentable “everyday” outfit, such as nice jeans and clean sneakers, that shows off your personality. (preferably no sweatpants or leggings)
Day 2: Philanthropy Night
Philanthropy Night marks the beginning of invitation-only rounds. You will have the opportunity to be invited back to three chapters. Each round is45 minutes. Service is an important part of the Panhellenic experience at Belmont, and Philanthropy Night will give you an insight into the philanthropic work that each chapter participates in.
Attire: Business Casual
Philanthropy Night attire should be more elevated. Think of something you’d wear to an interview or professional job. For example this could be slacks, blazers, nice shoes, or a business casual dress. Even though the dress code is more structured, do your best to showcase your personality!
Day 3: Preference Night
On this day, you can attend up to two chapters’ Preference rounds, each lasting 60 minutes. This is the day to really focus on what you want to gain out of joining a sorority. An invitation to a Preference event means that the sorority is very interested in you becoming a member. After participating in a ceremony, you will have the chance to talk privately with a member. During this time, the member may share with you how they made their decision, what their sorority means to them personally, and what their community encompasses. After the last party, you will complete your MRABA to make your final selection.
Attire: Semi-Formal
Preference Night is the most formal round of recruitment. A nice dress, suit, or jumpsuit and nice/formal shoes would all be appropriate choices.. Please try not to wear a dress that is too short or tight. A good example might be something you may wear to a graduation ceremony or a daytime wedding. Again, showcase your personality through your style!
*Disclaimer: no part of the selection process will have anything to do with your attire. Your ability to receive an invitation will not in any way be affected by your attire.
